Today, SHERR rescued two of several horses that were saved from horrible conditions. They were coming from several states away, and we traveled about an hour from our farm to meet them along their route. They are starving, full of rain rot, and one had a metal spring knotted in her tail. One of the horses had to be humanely euthanized and couldn’t make the trip. We took in two young horses (both under two years old), one of which will have to be gelded when he’s in better shape. It's a gut wrenching, exhausting kind of day, but we are happy to be part of the rescue effort. If you would like to help with their care, please reach out or make a Venmo donation to SHERR-NC. Thank you for supporting what we do!
